Digitalization comes with important benefits for consumers. But it also poses risks to their privacy, safety, and self-determination.
The virtual conference provides a forum for the exchange between policymakers, academics, practitioners, and the public in Germany and in ASEAN. It serves to highlight emerging issues and innovative solutions to empower consumers in the digital age.

Access to Justice and New Technologies
Agenda Highlights:
New technologies to increase consumer access to redress
Role of civil society, businesses, and policymakers/regulators in digital consumer policy
The conference is co-organized by the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection (BMJV) of Germany and the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP), with support by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Administrative note: Held via Zoom, with English as the working language.
